Rachael & Andy at Chateau Rive

Our five-month engagement was a whirlwind, and we couldn’t have pulled everything off without the help of so many friends, family members, and our amazing vendors.  With Andy’s military schedule, a lot was up in the air when it came to choosing a date for our wedding.  We had to pick based on the information we knew at the time, knowing that nothing was set in stone with his deployment and training schedule.  We didn’t expect we’d have time to take a honeymoon after and thought that he would either deploy or have to go to the south for training immediately after our wedding.  By the grace of God, the weekend that we picked ended up being perfect timing to not only be able to have the wedding of our dreams, but also to be able to take a 12-day honeymoon afterward.

We wanted our wedding to be a reflection of God’s goodness and grace in our lives in leading us to our wedding day.  We are overwhelmed by His faithfulness to both of us and his mercy toward us.  Our friend, mentor and premarital counselor, Gerry Breshears, flew in from Portland to officiate our wedding alongside my dad.  It has always been a dream of mine to have my dad give the message at my wedding, and to have Dad and Gerry co-officiate was such a gift.

Since I was finishing up my last semester of graduate school and living in Portland when we got engaged, I knew I needed a lot of help if we were going to pull the wedding off in five months.  I was very fortunate that so many amazing vendors were still available by the time we started planning. Alisa Lewis and her assistants Taylor and Emily were a godsend.  They helped me with styling and coordination throughout the planning process, introduced me to several of our vendors, and made it all happen on our wedding day. We would like to thank our parents for the love and support they have given us, and all of the time and effort they put into helping us plan.  Thank you to everyone involved for helping to make our wedding more wonderful than I could have imagined.
