Tami & Curtis at Trezzi Farm & Winery

When people ask me how Curtis and I met, I simply say “he works for my dad”. Then follows a doomful “oh.” – like they completely understand that you’re not supposed to date one of your dad’s employees.

We began like most other relationships, as just friends. We’d exchange brief hellos that led to hour long conversations when we were supposed to be working. So after talking at work for many months and unknowingly turning down multiple dates, Curtis got the courage to bluntly ask me out to dinner. Needless to say, the date went great. So great that I told him we shouldn’t see each other any more. He was, after all, my dad’s employee and that’s just asking for trouble…but there was just something about him that kept pulling me back in.

So we dated for a few months, broke the news to my dad that I had been seeing one of his guys, and the rest is history! Curtis is truly the best part of my life and I can’t wait to start our lives together.

Oana & Jeff at Davenport Hotel

Hawaii, May 2014 – We’re sitting down for a nice dinner at a beachfront sushi restaurant talking about what we love most about each other. For those of you who don’t know Jeff very well…. Well, romance and mushy love stuff is not really his thing. So, most of the things said revolved around how compatible we are and how much sense it makes that we’re together. The couple next to us was celebrating their one year anniversary and they were enjoying part of their wedding cake. I remember looking at them and wondering what kind of wedding they had… was it a small intimate evening wedding with soft glowing candles on every table? Then I remember asking myself what kind of wedding Jeff would like to have one day. We started walking back to our hotel and out of nowhere Jeff wanted to walk on the beach instead of the sidewalk. I wasn’t too keen on the idea since I was wearing high heels and a long dress but in the spirit of romance I decided to follow. Shortly after we hit the sand, Jeff wanted to sit and take a break and the first thing that went through my mind is that he ate too much and needs a break. Boy was I wrong! Jeff began sharing his most beautiful thoughts and feelings with me and by the time I said yes, we were both in tears and holding each other. A few months later, on February 15, 2015 Jeff and I were married in a beautiful ceremony at the Davenport Hotel. As we begin our married life together, my biggest hope is that we will always be brave enough to be ourselves around each other and share our deepest thoughts. Crazy enough, we fell in love with each other just the way we are and I hope our love will only grow stronger with time.

Bill and i met back in high school. Our first encounter was not so pleasant, but we met again and realized how much we shared in common, and have not gone a day since without the love and support of one another…that was in April of 1996. In 1998, i moved to Seattle to attend the University of Washington. I cried a lot and turns out Bill couldn’t live without me, so he soon made the move to Seattle too. Over the next decade we met great friends, had tons of grand adventures and deepened our love and respect for one another. We raised two beautiful English bulldogs together and had more fun than i can relay in a few words.
We always knew we would eventually tie the knot (when we were ready for kids) and that time finally came. On a magical September Saturday we gathered all of our family and friends at the Arbor Crest Winery to witness our ceremony, held in the most fitting of places, the enchanted forest. The day itself was a whirlwind, what i remember most vividly is the electrifying feeling, the amazing energy created by our guests. Their excitement for us was palpable, their years of joy visible, the entire day was amazing. Even mother nature contributed by blessing us with the most fiery sunset most of us had ever seen. It brings years to my eyes just thinking about it. I hope this day will live in our loved one’s hearts forever, because i know it will be in ours.
The best part is that Bill and i get to start a new chapter, where the best is yet to come.

Our wedding story is one not only about us, but how so many that love us came together to make this a wedding a day we will always remember with joy and happiness.  We are so appreciative.

Tyler’s extensive experience as a Liturgical planner and organist allowed him to create a beautiful music liturgy.  With the help of Robert Carr, the Cathedral Choir, and Father Connall, we had a moving wedding ceremony that went hand in hand with the Marriage Preparation that we attended with Fr. Connall to prepare us for marriage beyond the wedding day.

Lauren’s experience as Ifong’s assistant (long ago) gave Lauren the experience to create everything from the invitations to colors to seating charts.   Every detail of the reception was considered for the wedding party and guests’ comfort and enjoyment.

The work done by Lauren, Tyler and all of the talented vendors made the day so magical and memorable.  And of course, our wedding would have been neither of these things were it not for all of the guests that took time and effort to travel (some a very great distance) to be with us to share this most honored event in our lives.

A special thank you to our parents and family for all of your help to make our wedding dreams come true! This day is truly one to remember and we are forever thankful for your love, support, and encouragement. We love you!

Amanda and Eric’s story began in the summer of 2010. Amanda had just finished her first year of teaching in Deer Park and was enjoying her summer working with kids and spending time with friends at her family’s lake cabin. During her first year of teaching, her principal, Michele, told Amanda about her step son who was a firefighter. Michelle said that her step son was really sweet, but he lived in Yakima, and so Amanda didn’t think much of it. Eric was working in Union Gap as a fireman but made several trips to visit friends and family in Spokane, and over time, he began to pursue a job there.
While Amanda had originally dismissed Michele’s attempts at matchmaking, a short time later, the two met each other online. Amanda was a little bit nervous about going out with her principal’s step son, and she was really hoping that it would go well so things would not get awkward at work!
Fortunately, the two immediately hit it off. After a few weeks of exchanging emails and phone calls, Eric asked Amanda on their first date. Eric took Amanda to one of her favorite restaurants, Twigs, for drinks and appetizers. They talked for hours until the sun set and Eric drove her home. Amanda knew there was something special about Eric. Eric was eager to see Amanda again, and a few days later, he called to make a dinner date at the Wine Cellar in Coeur d’ Alene. Their connection continued to grow, and that night they had their first kiss on the front porch of her apartment.
Amanda and Eric’s relationship continued to grow and they withstood the test of being long-distance for a year. A job opened up in Spokane, and Eric was able to move back to start his career as a Spokane Firefighter. During the next three years, Amanda and Eric’s relationship developed even more through traveling together, having fun, and experiencing new adventures. On trips to San Diego, Florida, Vegas, and Seahawks games, they created lasting memories together. Eric taught Amanda how to water ski and snow ski, he took her camping for the first time, and taught her how to Salmon fish. Through all of these adventures, Amanda learned to trust Eric, and she fell in love. Eric loved how Amanda was so kind, passionate about kids and teaching, and he loved that she was so faithful with her friendships. He thought she was beautiful, both inside and out.
After Amanda and Eric watched the Christmas tree lighting at the Coeur d’ Alene resort last year. Eric got down on one knee and asked Amanda to be his wife. Of course she said “YES!” Eric then took her to dinner at the Wine Cellar where their love story began. Amanda felt like the luckiest girl in the world and now we are happily married!!

Amy and Jodi defied many odds and overcame numerous obstacles to finally have their dream wedding take place on Saturday, July 5th, 2014. Surrounded by family and friends, who travelled from all over North America, they exchanged their own vows on a beautiful cliff in Riverside State Park.

Amy and Jodi met on Match.com nearly 4 years ago, almost accidentially. Amy, living in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and Jodi, living in Spokane, Washington, USA, had fate bring them together in a 24 hour window of opportunity. After a month of talking on the phone and Skype, they finally met in person on September 24th, 2010 in Seattle, WA – the halfway point. Jodi knew the moment she saw Amy step off the ferry that she was the one for her. Amy, who thought Jodi was out of her league, wondered about how, logistically, the relationship could work, being from two different countries, and immigration laws that discriminated against same-sex partnerships in the US at the time.

Over the next year and a half, Amy travelled down to Spokane to visit Jodi, and her two lovely children, every 5 or 6 weeks. Every time she left, they really didn’t know when they would see each other again. During this time, Amy requested a work transfer to their Washington State office, and while they waited 9 months for a dual intent work visa to be approved, they kept their relationship strong with creative methods of communication. From writing long letters, sending small tokens, reading books to the kids over the phone, to Skype cooking and dinners together, Amy and Jodi built a foundation during a time when most would have thrown in the towel. It was also during this time that Jodi’s mother was suddenly diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer at a very young age. Not being able to travel while her visa petition was under review, Amy struggled to watch Jodi lose her mother from afar. After a courageous battle, Amy and Jodi find peace knowing that “nanny” thought the visa was taking too long, and had to “get up there” to get things rolling. Sure enough, two weeks after her passing the visa was approved and Amy moved to Spokane, WA to finally be with Jodi and the kids.

Amy, Jodi and the kids continued to build a strong foundation, falling even more in love with the opportunity to function as a normal family would under a single roof. Over the next two years, they witnessed a dramatic shift in policies that finally gave them hope that they could live together forever – as a family, as Washington State passed same-sex marriage, and the Defense of Marriage Act was defeated. Their wedding was more than a marriage, it was a celebration that love wins.

Amy and Jodi are so grateful to all their wedding vendors, who accepted them for who they are; two human beings in love. Their wedding experience in Spokane, WA was nothing short of incredible!

Blaine and Ryan are prime examples that the sky is not the limit, and to never give up on your dreams. Blaine (a flight attendant) and Ryan (a pilot) had their first date on a cool evening in the Spring of 2008. After their short walk through Riverfront Park, they both knew their lives would soon change forever. That “short walk” ended up lasting a few hours until almost midnight, as Blaine and Ryan talked about just about anything and everything.

Ryan knew he would have to leave early the next morning back to California; so he asked Blaine that evening when he could see him again. Blaine replied with a simple, “whenever you can”, and to Blaine’s surprise- Ryan flew up that very next day from California just to have lunch with Blaine.

After a month of dinner dates and movie nights, they became an official couple on June 13th, 2008. One year after that, Ryan received a job offer in Miami, so the two moved there together in October of 2009.

After a few more years of dating, new jobs, school, and buying a condo in South Beach, Miami-Ryan asked Blaine to marry him and June 13th, 2012. Two years later they held their rehearsal dinner at the Steamplant Restaurant on their 6 year anniversary (an anniversary they also share with Ryan’s grandparents).

Blaine & Ryan could not have asked for a more beautiful Ceremony and Reception with about 135 family and friends from all over the country (and many from outside the country).

Alex and Tom Fitzgerald don’t remember the exact moment of meeting each other at Santa Clara University, it seemed to them both like they had always known the other. Friends from the beginning, they spent a lot of time hanging out and laughing together during college. While life took them in different directions, where many experiences were gained traveling the world and kicking up dust on mountain peaks, and the sidelines of The Denver Broncos; they watched and admired each other from afar, enjoying each other’s company whenever possible.

After many years and plenty of life lessons later, the pair finally had a chance to connect. And boy did sparks fly! With Tom on the East Coast and Alex on the West Coast the pair agreed early in their relationship to meet in the middle, back to Denver, to give their love a go. Since then the two have been inseparable. Together they’ve embraced all of life’s challenges and triumphs, strengthening their love and commitment to each other. It was their shared passion for life and love for each other that propelled them to enjoin their lives together so that they may experience all that life has to offer as one. Alex and Tom now live and flourish in the beautiful city of San Francisco, working hard, and enjoying life.
Alex and Tom were married on June 7, 2014 in Priest Lake, ID surrounded by the love and goodwill of their families and friends.
