When people asked us how we met, I sometimes jokingly tell them that we met in Paris – it just sounds more romantic that way. The truth is that we met on Eharmony.com. I’m not sure why meeting online has a bad connotation to it, because it really shouldn’t, especially in our case. Regardless of how a couple meets, I think the important thing is that they do eventually find each other – and what happens from that point on is where the romantic begins and a love story is made.
I distinctly remember the first time I saw Holly, even her picture. It was the day after Thanksgiving, 2014, but this particular Friday wasn’t black at all. I was sitting in the big recliner chair in the living room of my sister’s house, sipping on a cup of morning coffee. I opened my e-mail to find that I had a new message from EHarmony with a new “match”. I skeptically opened the e-mail. After looking over her profile, and reading what she had written about herself and what she was looking for in life, and in a partner, I was immediately interested. I know it sounds a little clichéd, but I truly had a special feeling about her from the very start. I connected with what she had written, and liked everything about her, even her name, “Holly”. It didn’t take me long to muster up the courage to send her a note. I remember my heart beating fast as I sent the message and crossed my fingers that she would respond.
To my delight, she responded quickly, and after a few e-mails back and forth and a phone conversation or two, we agreed to meet in person. Our first date went well, and despite an awkward goodbye on my part, she luckily agreed to see me again. At the end of our second date, I kissed her for the first time, and we laughed together as she told me that I looked just like Andersen Copper and she’d never kissed someone famous before. After that, date number three lead into date number four, and I quickly began to fall in love with this beautiful Spanish Teacher from Spokane. I remember visiting my family shortly after we had started dating and describing Holly to them. They’ve told me since then that it was very evident just how special Holly was to me, even at that time.
At the 4-month mark we started planning a trip to Italy together, knowing full well that it would be the first big test of our relationship. As Holly always says, if you really want to see if you’re meant to be with someone, take an international trip with them. We ended up having a magical time together.
Our relationship only continued to blossom and grow stronger with each coming day, and on a warm sunlit day this past October, while on a walk through the Rose Garden in Manito Park, I asked Holly if she would do me the greatest honor of my life; would she to marry me?
Holly is my best friend, confidant, and sole-mate. She supports me and makes me a better man every day. I trust and respect her deeply. She is smart and engaging, caring, and strong. The size of her heart is only matched by her breathtakingly beauty. We share similar values and have similar life goals. And as basic as it sounds, we simply enjoy spending time with one another. She is the love of my life, and I pinch myself every day just to remind me of how lucky I am to have her in my life.
I was recently asked when was the exact moment that you knew Holly was the right woman for you. I struggled to answer the question because I don’t think there was an exact moment. I truly had a special feeling about her from the very beginning, and I approached our relationship with an open heart. I therefore don’t think it was a singular moment of realization that she was the one for me, but a gradual deepening on my feelings for her. I’ve known for a longtime, from early on, that I loved her, and that she was the woman I would gladly choose, amongst all others, to spend the rest of my life with.
Caitlin and Kyle met in 1999 during their 6th grade year– when the three elementary schools in Pullman merged together for middle school. On Valentine’s Day of their 8th grade year, Kyle asked Caitlin to be his girlfriend with a bouquet of Dissmores roses and a white teddy bear. And the rest, they say, is history.
In February 2016, Kyle planned a weekend at her parent’s cabin on Coeur D’Alene lake, skiing with their friends from the Tri-Cities. On Friday evening as they were in route to the cabin, Caitlin received a message from their friends saying that they were not going to be able to make it to the cabin as a work obligation arose unexpectedly. Caitlin and Kyle decided to continue on to the cabin and make the best of the weekend. Kyle surprised Caitlin by proposing to her on their dock after a waffle breakfast and a walk in the rain with their dogs. Their friends who were supposed to be skiing with with them and helped plan the surprise arrived early afternoon to celebrate.
Our love story has always begun and continues to run on extraordinary timing. We met originally in school, both sitting at the only left hand desks in the room. Slowly, our conversations grew longer as well as time spent together. In the Fall of 2012, our timing couldn’t have been more perfect as we both were taking classes at Washington State University, and living a cozy life of cheap college food and dates. When I attended nursing school up north, Daniel got a job an hour away to keep close. When Daniel accepted his first police officer position, I packed up my scrubs and stethoscope, and we moved to Pullman, the little town we had first met in. Both our jobs leave us on the night shift, playing board games and grocery shopping at 3AM. He is the best part of my life and I adore our every adventure together. We share the same sense of humor and delight in raising our beloved little cat, Phoebe. Though our timing may be set to a different tune throughout our lifetime, I will always be grateful for every second of every day that we have together.

Matt and Lexie met on Halloween night (2010) at the Beachcomber in Mission Beach. Lexie was a senior at the University of San Diego living in Mission Beach and Matt had recently returned from a 13 month sailing trip with groomsman Jody Lemmon. He was then working as a landscape architect in downtown San Diego. That night, Matt was at (groomsmen) Joe Kilcoyne’s annual Halloween/Birthday bash in Mission Beach when he decided to head over to the Beachcomber for a drink. Lexie had just gotten off a shift at the yacht club and decided to put on a black cat costume (a black dress and eyeliner whiskers) and head out to see if any of her friends were at their favorite local bar. Little did she know she would be meeting the love of her life that night. They made eye contact the minute she entered the bar and they spent the rest of the night sharing stories, dancing, and taking tequila shots.
Lexie knew in her heart that she (really) liked this guy and couldn’t wait to spend more time with him. He took her up to his boat in Long Beach two weeks later and it’s been smooth sailing ever since. Matt and Lexie spent the next 5 years sharing their love of traveling, the outdoors, live music, and great food together. They’ve challenged each other, grown in their careers together, loved and supported each other, and have started a beautiful life together. They both feel so lucky to have met their match. The person that fills their voids and makes them whole. Matt and Lexie are so excited for all of you to share in their love story with them.
IT IS WELL KNOWN THAT LEXIE IS A HUGE FAN OF PICNICS. IF MATT EVER SAID “LET’S GO FOR A PICNIC”, LEXIE WAS GAME. KNOWING THIS, MATT KNEW A PICNIC SETTING WOULD BE THE PERFECT WAY TO ASK LEXIE TO MARRY HIM. SO MATT PLANNED FOR A PICNIC ON THE BAY IN SOUTH MISSION BEACH NEAR THE BEACHCOMBER BAR WHERE THEY MET. THE DAY OF THE PROPOSAL WAS A GLOOMY MORNING AND SO MATT HAD A DIFFICULT TIME MOTIVATING LEXIE TO GET TO THE BEACH, KNOWING HE HAD A TIMED SURPRISE FOR HER. HE GATHERED THE PICNIC GEAR, HIS GUITAR AND IRONED LEXIE’S WRINKLY TOP, AS HE WAS IN A RUSH TO MEET HIS TIMELINE AND SHE WAS MAKING THIS DIFFICULT . AT THAT TIME LEXIE WAS THINKING, “WHY IS HE IN SUCH A RUSH TO GET TO THE BEACH? IT’S CLOUDY AND MATT’S NEVER IN A RUSH!”
AS THEY DROVE TO THE BEACH, MIRACULOUSLY THE CLOUDS BEGAN TO DISAPPEAR. THEY FOUND THEIR SPOT ON THE WHITE SAND OVER LOOKING THE BEAUTIFUL MOORED SAILBOATS IN THE BAY. THEY BEGAN TO EAT THEIR FAVORITE SANDWICHES FROM RUBICON DELI AND DRANK SOME INCONSPICUOUS SIPS OF WHITE WINE. AT THIS POINT LEXIE WAS THINKING THAT THEIR START TO MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND COULDN’T GET MUCH BETTER.
WHEN THEY FINISHED THEIR LUNCH, MATT TOOK OUT HIS GUITAR TO PLAY SOME TUNES WHILE LEXIE LAID DOWN ON THE BLANKET TO CATCH SOME RAYS UNDER THE CLEAR BLUE SKY. AFTER PLAYING HIS USUAL LINEUP, MATT TURNED TO LEXIE AND TOLD HER THAT HE WROTE A SONG FOR HER. LEXIE COULDN’T BELIEVE IT, AS SHE HAD BEEN ASKING MATT TO WRITE HER A SONG FOR FIVE YEARS TO NO AVAIL. MATT TOOK OUT HIS LYRICS AND LEXIE QUICKLY STARTED SHEDDING TEARS AS HE BEGAN TO SING THE FUN LOVING SONG. THE HEARTFELT WORDS MOVED LEXIE TO MORE TEARS, BIG SMILES AND DEEP LAUGHTER. THE SONG FLOWED FROM SENTIMENTAL SWEET WORDS TO EVERYDAY INSIDE JOKES, TO EVERY NICKNAME MATT HAD EVER GIVEN HER. AFTER THE SONG FINISHED, LEXIE WAS AT A LOSS FOR WORDS (WHICH IS VERY UNUSUAL FOR HER), WHILE MATT WAS THINKING…”NOW HOW DO I SMOOTHLY TAKE OUT THE BOXED RING IN THE GUITAR CASE AND ASK HER?” LEXIE WAS STILL WIPING AWAY TEARS WHEN MATT SAID, ” WELL, I THINK I’M GOING TO MAKE YOU CRY A LITTLE BIT MORE”. HE GRABBED THE BOX, ASKED HER TO STAND UP, AND GOT DOWN ON ONE KNEE. AND YES, SHE SAID YES, AS STRANGERS ON THE BEACH CLAPPED THEIR HANDS IN CELEBRATION.
BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! LEXIE IMMEDIATELY WANTED TO CALL BOTH OF THEIR PARENTS AND ALL OF THEIR FRIENDS TO ANNOUNCE THE GOOD NEWS, BUT MATT HAD PLANNED FOR A SURPRISE CELEBRATION WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS AT THE BEACHCOMBER WHERE THEY MET. LEXIE’S PARENTS, BUZZ AND KELLY, FLEW DOWN FROM PORTLAND, OREGON AND WERE WAITING AT THE BEACHCOMBER WITH MATT’S FAMILY AND MANY OF MATT AND LEXIE’S BEST FRIENDS. KNOWING THAT EVERYONE WAS WAITING FOR THEM AT THE BAR, MATT HAD TO STALL LEXIE’S PHONE CALLS BY TELLING HER THAT THEY SHOULD FIRST CELEBRATE “JUST THE TWO OF THEM” WITH A SHOT OF DON JULIO AT THE COMBER AND PROMISING HER THAT THEY WOULD CALL EVERYONE AFTER THAT. SHE THOUGHT HE WAS CRAZY! WITH A LITTLE COAXING, HE FINALLY GOT HER TO AGREE, AND THEY WALKED ACROSS THE SAND TO THEIR FAVORITE BEACH BAR. AS THE NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLE WALKED THROUGH THE BEACHCOMBER DOORS, THEY RECEIVED A HUGE CHEER, DOZENS OF HUGS AND WELL WISHES. THEY CELEBRATED ALL NIGHT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS KNOWING THEY WOULD LOVE EACH OTHER FOREVER.

Title: Christie + Jeff Fore-Ever
A girls date to the driving range resulted in the most important introduction of their lives: “I think I know the perfect guy for you” Suedy said mid-swing. And she did.
A few weeks later, they were on their first date, paddleboarding on a sunny Sunday morning in Richardson Bay off Sausalito, CA. Paddleboarding turned into a picnic in the park, impressing each other with their arms throwing the football around, and then into watching the NBA finals at Christie’s “local watering hole”, and then eating pizza. On his drive home, Jeff said out-loud to himself “I’m going to marry that girl”, and Christie texted her girlfriends “he’s my penguin”.
The year that followed was filled with “bachelor-esque” dates, as Christie called them: Giants games, driving range dates, music festivals, camping, hiking, Seahawks games, going to the batting cage, Oktoberfest, romantic dinners, spa trips, picnics in the park, a trip to Kauai and, eventually, meeting the parents.
On the second visit with Christie’s parents, Jeff golfed with Christie’s dad John. After the 16 hole, he finally did what he came there to do: ask for her hand in marriage. “I was hoping you were going to ask that” John said. On the next hole, they were both so excited they hit massive drives down the fairway. And a few months later, Jeff proposed to Christie in the most epic and appropriate way possible: on beautiful overlook at the 2015 US Open at Chambers Bay in front of a group of their best friends…. and some random spectators.
And one year later they wed.

I had just moved to Idaho, ready to start my new life away from California. I was a little anxious and excited to start back at school in a place I had never been and where faces weren’t familiar. Although I was faced with fears, I knew that this chapter in my life had great opportunity to learn and grow.
My last semester in Idaho arrived, but all I could think about was moving onto another school. At the last minute my schedule changed, and I found myself taking the last seat in a chemistry class.
On the first day of chemistry class I was running late (as always: Jessica), but before I sat down I scanned the room to find the cutest girl in the class. I took a seat right across from Jessica, in hopes of having her as my lab partner throughout the semester.
Class began and our instructor informed us that we needed to pick a person to be our lab partner throughout the semester. Before I could even look around, Cameron came around the table and asked me if I would be his partner. Little did I know, this moment was the start of a relationship that would change my life forever.
After a few weeks I began to realize that Jessica was different, she was everything I was looking for in a woman and more than I could imagine. It’s funny how right when you’re about to give up God gives you an amazing blessing. I started to get this feeling in my bones and I knew we had some amazing potential and soon I fell in love with the beauty of her character, her loving heart, her dedication to her passions and mine, her willingness to try or go on any adventure, and her unwavering love. Jessica brings out the best in me and she has shown me things I had no idea I had. I know she will always stand by my side through the crazy adventures, the toughest days, and the greatest moments. She has given me the most precious thing she has, her love and I will cherish it for the rest of my days, she is truly the love of my life and I’m so excited to share her with the world.
Since the beginning, Cameron and I built our relationship in a way that was different for the both of us. We were two friends that challenged one another, and fell madly in love with each other. You see Cameron was different than any other guy that I had met before. He was a true gentleman that held the door open for me, he didn’t try to put “all the right moves on me,” he waited and then asked if he could kiss me (and got rejected the first couple of times), and he truly respected me. I fell in love with his charm, good looks, intelligence, and his adventurous spirit. Cameron has challenged me to do things that I have never done before and he truly brings out the best in me. When I moved up to Idaho, I had no intentions of getting into a relationship, but Cameron was my unexpected surprise and I am so glad that God has brought him into my life. I cannot believe how lucky I am. I look forward to this crazy journey called life, because I know that I have Cameron by my side to catch me when I fall and laugh with me through the joyous of times.

Anthony and Anne met in Denver 3 and a half years ago and went on their first date shortly after meeting. The relationship started with the mutual love for the outdoors and all that Colorado has to offer. Anthony proposed in the couple’s favorite mountain town, Vail, in November of 2015. They married in Washington, the home state of Anne.
